April is Canine Fitness Month. With all the curveballs and restrictions this year has thrown, we want to ensure our dogs still get their proper activity and exercise. Our dog’s health is essential, and with life slowly coming back to a new normal, we figured you’re looking to get back into the routine of fitness as well. We’re excited to introduce the new: Canine Fitness Program.
What is the Canine Fitness Program?
This program is designed to focus on your canine’s fitness no matter where you are. Whether you’re stuck at home or limited to a park, this program wants to help you get the most from your time out with your pup. Canine Fitness hopes to bring fun and excitement to your training sessions with your dog.
How Does it Work?
This training program is a journey that involves weekly virtual classes and live online lessons. The classes run for five weeks with 2-hour lessons covering new behaviors with real-time training and interactive learning. Between these classes, you will be teaching and practicing these new training techniques with your dog(s) to reinforce these behaviors.
With the flexibility of virtual learning, you also don’t need to worry about missing a live class since classes are recorded and able to be referenced at a later point.
What Will I learn?
In this program, we begin with the basics of teaching you how to create a safe fitness environment. Once the basics are laid out, we will expand on this by learning how to move through a course, follow direction and work our way up to balancing, agility and improving your canine’s movement. We’ll also cover the importance of warming up, and cooling down will also be covered throughout the course. This course aims to create your own canine fitness course for your pup to do with you.
Overall, we hope to strengthen the bond you have with your dog and create a healthy and fun fitness routine the both of you can enjoy.
Who Will be teaching this course?
The Canine Fitness program is taught by me, Eleanor McCoy. My years of experience, education and passion for fitness has inspired me to design a course where dogs and their humans can be happy and healthy together. My experience as a group fitness class instructor, and my certifications as an Animal Behavior College Certified Dog Trainer give me the knowledge and expertise needed to design a fun and interactive program you and your pup can enjoy. Allow me to guide you and your pup through some fun training exercises using this virtual interactive program. You’ll see you’ll gain more confidence in training your dog while keeping fit and active together.
Learn From Anywhere
With this online course, you do not need to worry about going to a class or facility to complete training. The online live classes can be attended from the comfort of your own home. The stress of missing a class due to your busy schedule is also eliminated. You will have recorded classes to reference at any point of the course. The training of your pup can also be flexible and practiced on your own time. With this course, your dog will no longer think walks are boring. They will associate their time and activities with you with fun and excitement.
